The conflict between the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, and the Commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, Mikhail Teplynsky, is intensifying, as evidenced by additional checks among paratroopers. This was reported toGORDON by sources in the DefenseIntelligence of Ukraine.

Intelligence sources confirm the start of inspections of the combat units of the Russian Airborne Forces regarding the loyalty or disloyalty of the personnel to the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

According to the source, Gerasimov personally ordered the representatives of the Main Military and Political Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces to start the inspections.

Sources note that Teplynsky is respected in the Russian army and is considered by many to be the best replacement for Gerasimov.

“Accordingly, Gerasimov, sensing his likely loss to Teplynsky in the struggle for his leadership position, is using all possible tools to discredit the VDP commander in the eyes of the Kremlin’s masters,” the source said.

The PID believes that the conclusions to be presented in the inspection reports are known in advance.

“And we can definitely state an even greater moral decay of tired and badly beaten paratroopers, who are being killed by their own “commissars” with more and more frequent inspections,” the source added.
