I happen to regularly monitor the Russian information field. Not only the well-known TV channels, but also, so to speak, much deeper. Therefore, today’s information from the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine is in line with my observations. Let me remind you that according to the DIU, the military command of the aggressor state has created a special document that defines how Kremlin propagandists should cover the events of the war against Ukraine.
The General Recommendations contain eleven points, the main content of which is as follows:
- Focusing on information exclusively from sources approved by the Russian Ministry of Defense;
- Emphasizing the leading and positive role of Sergei Shoigu and Valery Gerasimov in news materials and comments by “independent” experts;
- Justifying attacks on Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure, citing the “necessity” of such actions;
- Emphasize the topic of providing Ukraine with Western weapons. In this sense, it is recommended to focus on the fact that “Russia is conducting a military operation not against Ukraine, but against the entire NATO.”
- Refuse to mention the Wagner PMC in a positive context. Emphasize excessive human losses and meaningless attacks by PMCs;
- Tracking and quoting publications in foreign media about the successes of the Russian Federation’s armed forces and the failures of the Ukrainian armed forces. Particular attention should be paid to statements by Western and Ukrainian politicians that can be interpreted in a similar vein.
The role of Pryzhin and his frozen gang has now grown to the point where he is actually hoping to succeed Putin. Remember Putin’s apocalyptic “celebration” of the last Christmas for him. Alone among the cassocked men, he cannot light a candle himself… On the one hand, there is distrust of everyone. On the other hand, it is the unwillingness of leaders of influence groups to publicly appear next to the dictator. Because the successor, whoever he is, will, among other things, try to lift Western sanctions against himself and Russia.
Another aspect is responsibility for the failure of the war against Ukraine. In addition to the unwillingness to be convicted in The Hague, each of the candidates fears an internal rebellion, “meaningless and ruthless,” because more than 100,000 dead must be explained somehow. Russian society is ready for sacrifices and submits to the tsars only in case of victorious wars. Losing wars lead mostly to revolutions. And now the situation is very similar to 1905 for Russia.
That is why Prygozhin is now attacking the military leadership, emphasizing that all successful campaigns, even tactical ones, are “Wagner”. The Russian Defense Ministry, on the other hand, emphasizes the secondary importance of the mercenaries’ actions. We will see how this will end in the near future. In the meantime, the Wagner will continue to litter the battlefield with bodies, and the army’s opponents will continue to emphasize the “war against NATO.” By the way, this was the only thesis of a program interview the day before yesterday with Nikolai Patrushev, whose son was recently considered the main contender to replace Putin.
Well, we wish maximum losses to each team…
