An official delegation of the Russian State Duma arrived in Riyadh to meet with Arab parliamentarians.

The Russian delegation included State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs Shamsail Saraliev, Deputy Speaker Alexander Babakov, and representatives of parliamentary committees.

They met with the Speaker of the Consultative Council (Parliament of Saudi Arabia), Abdullah Al-Sheikh, and other representatives of the country’s legislature. An agreement between the parliaments of the two countries was announced to expand trade.

After the de facto boycott of Russia by most countries, Russia is actively trying to break out of international isolation. To this end, representatives of the Russian government and parliament are trying to establish stronger ties with Asian and African countries.
