On September 4-20, the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology interviewed 2005 respondents from all available regions of Ukraine and found that most of them trust Ukrainian media and learn about current events from Telegram channels.
The survey showed that people watch less television, while they look for relevant information mainly on Telegram channels:
- 44% of respondents learn news from Telegram channels;
- 43% – from television;
- 36% – from YouTube;
- 34% – from online news outlets;
- 22% came from Facebook;
- 7% – from radio;
- 3% – from printed newspapers and magazines;
- 1% – from X (Twitter);
- 2% – from other sources;
- 2% – difficult to say or refused to answer;
Respondents aged 18-59 mostly use online sources of information, while people over 60 prefer television;
A survey conducted by the InfoLight.UA Research and Analysis Group among Ukrainians living abroad shows that:
- 67% learn news from Telegram channels;
- 56% – from online media;
- 47% – from Facebook;
- 43% each – from friends and colleagues in Ukraine and from official reports
- 27% are from YouTube;
- 13% – from Viber channels;
- 10% – from local news;
- 9% each from the Unified Telethon and Instagram publics;
- 3% each from X (Twitter) and TikTok;
