President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the information campaign organized by organized by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu about alleged provocations by Ukraine using a dirty bomb.
According to Zelenskyy, Russia has thus prepared a new escalation step.
“When the Russian defense minister is organizing a telephone carousel and calling foreign ministers with stories about the so-called dirty nuclear bomb, everyone understands everything well. They understand who is the source of everything dirty that can be imagined in this war. And if anyone can use nuclear weapons in our part of Europe, it is only one entity, and this entity just ordered Comrade Shoigu to make a phone call somewhere,” the president said.
He called on the world to respond to Russia’s latest provocation.
“I believe that the world must now react as strongly as possible. If Russia is preparing another raising of the stakes and another escalation step, it must see now, as a preventive measure and before any new ‘dirt’ is dumped, that the world will not swallow it. Even Russia’s threat of nuclear weapons, and even more so against our country, which has given up its nuclear arsenal under the promise of security from the largest nuclear powers, is grounds for sanctions and even greater support for Ukraine,” Zelensky said in his evening video address.
