Not only air alert: what hazards will the SES send notifications about

The State Emergency Service will actively use its new mobile phone emergency notification system because it is effective.

Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, a spokesman for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, said this at a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukraine Media Center.

“Of course, we will use this system. It has proven to be effective in the West. That is why we are adopting their best practices and implementing them in the Ukrainian realities of today. It is not only about signals, such as air alerts or the threat of shelling, but also about emergency warnings and priority actions in case of accidents, catastrophes, man-made or natural emergencies, such as flooding, chemical hazards, etc.”

Khorunzhyi said.

He noted that the system was tested over the past month.

“There are requirements for the system to work like clockwork, for people to receive clear messages in case of a threat. This is very important. These are messages that appear in a very short time with a short advice, they go over all other messages that are on the phones and have a loud signal.”

added the SES spokesperson.
