A resident of Kherson region participated in the organization and conduct of the so-called “referendum” on the accession of Kherson region to the Russian Federation.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, in September 2022, she became a member of a “precinct election commission” operating in the villages of Kozatske and Vesele, Kakhovka district. Accompanied by the Russian military, the convict made door-to-door visits to residents and offered to make appropriate marks in the ballots.

The court found the woman guilty of collaboration (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced her to 6 years in prison. She is also banned from holding positions in state and local government bodies and engaging in activities related to the electoral process or referendums for 10 years.

She will remain in custody until the verdict comes into force.
