The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police conducted a successful operation that prevented an attempted assassination attempt on the life of the First Deputy Minister of Health.
Detention of accomplices:
Two residents of Kyiv region were detained while trying to purchase firearms to commit a crime.
Preparation for a crime:
- The criminals had been following the official for several months, analyzing his schedule and travel routes.
- They visited a private shooting range to practice shooting and actively searched for weapons on the black market.
Law enforcement actions:
The suspects were detained red-handed while transferring money for weapons.
Criminal proceedings:
- Both persons were served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 14 and Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (preparation for premeditated murder).
- The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided.
