The World Association of Newspapers and News Organizations (WAN-IFRA) has announced the launch of a new tool, NewsArcade, which allows media outlets to create interactive stories based on news. This was reported by “Media Maker”.
What is NewsArcade?
NewsArcade is a web-based content management system that turns regular news articles into interactive, game-like stories. Features of the tool:
- Interactive stories: news is structured by key indicators – analysis, impact, constructiveness.
- Content creation tools: journalists can choose the genre of the story, create headlines, add quotes and visuals.
- Training: The platform offers a library of examples and a short online course for journalists.
With NewsArcade, WAN-IFRA aims to:
- Attracting a young audience: the tool is aimed at a generation that is increasingly avoiding traditional news.
- Combat disinformation: the interactive format will help make news more understandable and attractive.
- Develop media literacy: readers will have the opportunity to study news in an interesting and interactive format.
