For the first time in history, unmanned aerial systems of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine have struck a Russian flotilla in the Caspian Sea. The attack took place on the morning of November 6 with the use of kamikaze drones.
According to sources, at least two facilities in the city of Kaspiysk (Republic of Dagestan, Russia) were hit.
The Tatarstan and Dagestan missile ships were allegedly damaged. There is also evidence of damage to small missile ships of the 21631 project, which were near the epicenter of the explosion.
It is noteworthy that the distance from the state border of Ukraine to the targeted facility is about 1500 kilometers. It is worth noting that units of the coastal troops, including marines, are based at the attacked facility.
It is known that this flotilla regularly launched missile strikes against Ukraine, and the 177th Marine Regiment took part in battles in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. As a result of the operation, the airport in Makhachkala was suspended.
This is the first time that Russian ships have been successfully hit in the Caspian Sea, which indicates a significant expansion of the reach of Ukrainian drones.
