On November 1, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with North Korean Foreign Minister Cho Song-hui in Moscow. During the meeting, she expressed support for Russia in the war against Ukraine, noting that the DPRK will steadfastly support the Russian army, believing that under the leadership of Russian President Putin, Russia will achieve victory. This was reported by Reuters.
Cho Sung-hui emphasized that the friendly relations between the two countries are of historical importance and have now reached the level of “invincible military comradeship” and a strategic partnership that has a 100-year perspective. According to her, with the start of the “special military operation,” Kim Jong-un ordered to support Russia, as this struggle is, in his opinion, “sacred.”
Sergey Lavrov thanked North Korea for its “principled position” on the events in Ukraine, noting that Russian-Korean relations have reached an “unprecedentedly high level” thanks to the efforts of Putin and Kim Jong-un. He added that close cooperation has been established between the armed forces and security services of the two countries, which allows them to effectively address security issues.
