Belarusian dictator deliberately spreads false information about the position of the US special envoy

Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate categorically denies Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko’s claims that US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg allegedly promised to work on a ban on Western weapons strikes on Russian territory.

“This, according to our data, is absolutely untrue and is another example of disinformation and information special operations by the Russian special services,” a source in the GUR told RBC-Ukraine.

This was reported to RBC-Ukraine by intelligence sources.

What Lukashenko claimed

The day before, the Belarusian dictator said that he had conveyed Putin’s position on a possible truce with Ukraine to Kellogg. According to him, the Russian dictator is allegedly not against a ceasefire, but on the condition that “American, British and French missiles” do not hit Russian territory.

Lukashenko claimed that Putin was demanding that the West send a signal to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that strikes against Russia were unacceptable.

“I brought this position to the Americans. I said: what’s wrong with that? We will work in this direction,” Lukashenka said.

The reality of the situation

Sources in the GUR emphasize that the Belarusian dictator deliberately made an information throw-in, trying to create a false impression that the American side is ready to make concessions to Russia.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, U.S. Special Envoy Keith Kellogg did not actually promise to dissuade Ukraine from striking the Russian Federation.

Lukashenko’s statements are part of a broader Russian information campaign aimed at undermining support for Ukraine from its Western partners.
