The Security Service of Ukraine detained a high-ranking official of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on suspicion of illegal enrichment in excess of USD 1 million.
Details of the investigation:
- Position: Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Medical Commission (CMC), responsible for the fitness for duty of military personnel.
- Assets:
- Private house and two land plots in Obukhiv district of Kyiv region.
- I have three apartments in Kyiv and one in Odesa.
- Four BMW cars (X7, X5, X3) of different years of production.
- Cash: USD 152 thousand and 34 thousand. euros.
The property was registered in the names of close relatives and unauthorized persons to conceal the sources of enrichment.
Criminal articles:
- Art. 368-5 – illicit enrichment.
- Art. 366-2 – declaring false information.
Sanctions:
The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. A notice of suspicion is currently being prepared, and the issue of choosing a measure of restraint and seizure of assets is being decided.
This case was another signal to the public about the importance of anti-corruption reforms and transparency in government agencies, especially in times of war.
