The Security Service of Ukraine has detained the rector of a church in the Kharkiv diocese of the UOC (MP), who is suspected of collaborating with Russian special services.
According to the investigation, the 43-year-old cleric was fulfilling the tasks of the Russian side, transmitting information about Ukrainian checkpoints near Kharkiv. In particular, he tried to determine the number of soldiers and the type of weapons, as well as tracked the routes of movement of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the front line. The priest transmitted the collected data via messengers in the form of marks on Google maps with detailed descriptions.

Later he moved to Kharkiv, where he worked as an IT specialist in the diocesan administration of the UOC (MP) and was appointed rector of a local church.
During the searches, a phone with evidence of cooperation, Russian rubles and awards received from the Kremlin were seized from him.
