The popular Signal messenger has introduced an update that will make its calling features more convenient and competitive with platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet. The main novelty is the ability to create call invitation links that greatly simplify the process of organizing meetings. This was reported by Media Maker in its Telegram channel..
New opportunities:
- Links to calls. Previously, group calls required creating a separate chat with all participants. Now, it’s enough to create a link in the Calls tab. By default, the organizer has to approve new participants, but you can disable this feature and allow anyone to join.
- Participant management. The organizer can remove participants from the call or block them.
- Regular meetings. You can reuse the lines for scheduled calls.
- Up to 50 participants. Group calls now support up to 50 people.
Additional features:
- A button for raising your hand and emoji reactions. Participants can interact during calls using new tools.
- History of challenges. Call history is now available in the Calls tab, which allows you to quickly call back or manage calls.
- Improved interface. The microphone and camera settings have been made more accessible, and the appearance of calls has become more modern and convenient.
This update makes Signal more flexible and functional for organizing both personal and business meetings, while maintaining a high level of privacy.
