Anthropic has launched a desktop version of its popular chatbot Claude for Mac and Windows. The application can be downloaded for free from the official website. The new version is almost identical to the web version: users can ask questions, save chat history, and view pinned conversations, Mezha.Media reports.

Last week, Anthropic announced its intention to teach its artificial intelligence to interact with a computer, such as moving the cursor, pressing buttons, and entering text. However, the desktop version of Claude has not yet implemented these features.

Anthropic is trying to compete with other AI chatbots, such as ChatGPT from OpenAI and Perplexity search chatbot, which already have desktop versions. Moreover, Microsoft has integrated its Copilot directly into Windows 11, making it available to users of the operating system.
