On November 3, it became known about a mass poisoning at the Ufa Motorcycle Production Association (UMPA). Of the 21 employees who were affected, nine were hospitalized. Doctors suspected food poisoning, which led to a temporary shutdown of the canteen and cafeteria. After disinfection, they resumed normal operations.
“Rospotrebnadzor determined that the incident was caused by a norovirus infection. A preliminary epidemiological investigation showed that the infection was introduced by the catering staff. According to the service, all patients have mild or moderate illness and are under medical supervision.
This enterprise produces engines for combat aircraft such as Su-30, Su-35S, and Su-57, and also manufactures components and assemblies for helicopters. The situation at the plant has caused concern, as it is an important element of the defense industry.
