The Security Service of Ukraine detained an FSB agent in Donetsk region. He was a 34-year-old volunteer of the UN World Food Program, recruited by the Russian occupiers. Under the guise of volunteering, he was spying on the positions of the Ukrainian military in the Pokrovsk sector, where there is a high concentration of enemy attacks.

The agent was supposed to identify the location of Ukrainian units defending the district center, transmitting the coordinates via anonymous chat in a messenger to his supervisor, an FSB officer. The information was used to plan attacks on Pokrovsk using aerial bombs and FPV drones.

The SBU detected the agent at the initial stage of his activities and took measures to ensure the security of the Ukrainian forces. During the search, the SBU seized a cell phone confirming communication with Russian handlers.

Based on the evidence, the detainee was served a notice of suspicion under part. 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason under martial law), which provides for life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
