The European Union has officially imposed sanctions on Iran for transferring missiles to Russia, used in the war against Ukraine. The sanctions list includes Iranian officials, including the Deputy Minister of Defence of Iran and the military attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Russia. This was reported by the Council of the European Union.

In addition, sanctions were imposed on seven Iranian companies , including three airlines: Iran Air, Saha Airlines and Mahan Air. These airlines are suspected of involvement in the transfer of weapons, including missile systems used by Russia in hostilities. The sanctions include an asset freeze and a ban on cooperation with EU companies and individuals.

Inaddition, the EU Council decided to introduce restrictive measures against:

of high-ranking officials of one of the branches of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) “Quds Force”;
▪️Центрального of the IRGC headquarters “Khatam al-Anbia”;
▪️Космічного of the IRGC Aerospace Forces Directorate;
▪️Керівників of the Iranian Aerospace Industries (HESA) and Aerospace Industries Organisation (AIO).
