The Security Service and the National Police thwarted new attempts by the FSB to undermine the socio-political situation in Kyiv.

As a result of complex measures , an agent of the Russian special service was detained in the city, who was preparing a series of arson attacks in the capital region.

It turned out to be a 16-year-old resident of the capital, who came to the attention of the occupiers when he was looking for quick money on Telegram channels. A representative of the Russian special service answered him there and offered cooperation in exchange for money.

The enemy deliberately recruited a minor and initially set him a test task: to post anti-Ukrainian leaflets around the city.

After completing this”simple” task , the curator promised the minor “big money” in exchange for setting fire to military vehicles.

A prerequisite for the arson attacks was video recording of the process.

The FSB needed the footage to prepare information and psychological special operations: that arson attacks in Ukraine are not paid for by the FSB, but that there is a pro-Russian”underground” in our country, which is thus trying to disrupt mobilization and help Russia.

When setting the task for the minor, the Russian supervisor said, that it is not necessary to set fire to a military vehicle, but to any vehicle that looks like a military vehicle.

After establishing the locations of two potential targets , the young man first took pictures of them for “approval” by the FSB, and then set them on fire with a flammable mixture.

This was another”test” task for the recruited Kyiv resident – in this way Russian special services were testing his readiness to commit regular arson attacks in the capital.

The SBU and the National Police prevented the realization of the enemy’s plans due to timely exposure of a Russian agent and his detention in hot pursuit.

In the course of documenting the crimes of the Kyiv resident, it was established that if he completed the “verification” tasks , the FSB promised to transfer money to his crypto wallet. But he never received the promised amount.

Based on the collected evidence , the enemy agent was served a notice of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

▪ ч. 2 Art. 258 ( a terrorist act committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons that caused significant property damage);

▪ Part 1 of Art. 114-1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations during a special period).

Despite the young age of the defendant, he faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property .

The criminal actions of his Russian curator are also qualified under these articles. He has already been identified by the Security Service. In addition , the Russian was served a notice of suspicion in absentia under Part 1 Art. 304 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (involvement of a minor in illegal activities).

Since he is on the territory of the Russian Federation, comprehensive measures are underway to find him and punish him.
