Iran requests modern air defense systems from Russia as it prepares for possible war with Israel- media

Shoigu, a former defense minister, is closely associated with President Putin, also met with the Secretary of Iran ‘s Supreme National Security Council.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the aid publicly.

Clark, director of policy and research at Soufan Group, an intelligence and security consultancy. “The question is how the Russians will be able to reassure Tehran without destroying their relations with Israel.”
