A massive failure of digital services has occurred in Russia

Russian users complain of massive failures in popular digital services. In particular, disruptions were recorded both in Moscow and in other regions of the Russian Federation. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Russian media.

In particular, on the morning of March 11, users of Troika transport cards (used to pay for public transportation in Moscow, Moscow region, and 38 regions of the Russian Federation in general) began reporting a massive system failure. They could not replenish it or get tickets.

The Kazan Metro (a system of subway lines in Kazan, Russia, Tatarstan) also failed. At the station, payment was made through manual validators and metro ticket offices.

In addition, the official app for finding and paying for parking in Moscow does not work.

Earlier, Russia’s largest Internet portal Mail.ru suffered a malfunction. As it became known, it was an operation of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. Then some of the service users lost access to their accounts. In addition, in December 2023, Ukrainian hackers shut down one of the largest ERP systems, 1C-Rarus. It is used for accounting services.

We also wrote that hackers from the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) launched a large-scale DDoS attack on the servers of the Russian Defense Ministry. They gained access to a number of data and documents, including classified ones.
